Overview

Locked paragraphs have a special lock icon next to them on the right margin of the document.

Locked paragraph partly pre-define the structure and/or the content of the document and cannot be edited or deleted.

A document inherits the locked paragraphs from the template it's been created from. Changes made to locked paragraphs in templates apply to all the documents created from those templates.
