Paragraphs can be moved to a different level or location within the document.

Pre-conditions

  • Document Level Permission: 'Owner', 'Editor'.

Steps

Move 1 or Multiple Paragraph(s) to a different position and/or level:

  1. (Optional): For multiple consecutive paragraphs, select them by clicking on the 1st one at the top and then holding Shift while clicking on the last one at the bottom (for split paragraphs, hold Ctrl/Cmd while clicking on them).
  2. Hover mouse over the paragraph (or any paragraph for multi-select) and click on the Reorder icon.
  3. (Optional): Click on the Esc icon in the top pane or Esc on keyboard to go back to the editing mode.
  4. Point the cursor to indicate where the paragraph(s) should be positioned and select which paragraph level to insert the paragraph(s) in.*

Supplementary Information

Undo/Redo Paragraph Moves/Level Changes

In case any mistakes were believed to be made in terms of paragraphs you've moved/changed levels across a session on a document, you can undo them with "Ctrl/Cmd + Z", and then again if needed on the same fashion you can redo the paragraph moves/level changes with "Ctrl/Cmd + Y" in case you realized they were indeed correct.

This also applies to creating and deleting paragraphs.

Notes

  • Paragraph 1 is to be placed on level 1, paragraph 1.1 - on level 2, paragraph 1.1.1 - on level 3 etc.

Undo/Redo Paragraph Moves/Level Changes

  • You can revert only your changes.
  • You can only revert changes made during the current session; if you reload the page or switch to another document, the undo/redo actions will reset.
  • Not available in suggestion mode, where each paragraph has it’s own history.
  • Undo/Redo doesn’t work for add/delete snippets.
  • Undo/Redo doesn’t work for numbering.
  • Undo/Redo works for applying suggestions, but not for restoring suggestions.
